Trying out the sunny side up

Issue
Jacque Bermejo. Camille Magno. You can do the google and you'll know immediatey what I'm talking about.

Normal reaction (but not really mine, since I prefer to stay like a tiny pimple on earth)
Join the whole Filipino community. Post everywhere on the Internet and express your feelings of hatred towards the two instant celebrities.

My point of view
If you have any negative opinions about something, think -- are you really considering the black and white of the situation? Or do you just care about not wasting your saliva (or your ability to type on a keyboard, for that matter) to the point that you'd just blurt out anything that comes to your mind? I think criticism should go with trying to understand first what you are criticizing. When you say something negative, always try to inject some positive views -- anything at all, I'm sure you can think of something. Otherwise, if you don't mind being the topic of forums and blogs and facebook groups with the words "F*ck you" and your whole name on it, then okay I guess you can say whatever you want. But really, freedom of speech comes with a lot of responsibility.

Looking at the bright side
Filipinos are now using the Internet a lot. They know now the power of Google (or Yahoo, or whatever search engine they're using). A significant number of Filipinos (especially the youth) are frequenters of networking sites... and well, updates and news traverses faster than ever. I guess we can say that this is also another way of learning...

-FIN-

This will be the first and last time that I will post anything about this issue. If you are really obssessed with this issue AND is a good friend of mine, then I guess I can entertain you with a few hours of rambling IN PERSON and out of earshot of anyone who might get offended. Probably inside the cupboard under the stairs in the Dursley's. Well... no, seriously, let's not talk about this anymore.

A different perspective

My original point of view

I don't like it very much when other people take advantage of this calamity for personal gain such as boosting their popularity and making themselves look good.

My different perspective (a very difficult one to take)
But then again, a lot of people idolize and admire these personalities. Seeing them do something good encourages and inspires them to do the same.

Lesson for the day
I guess in some situations, it doesn't matter that much if you have some ulterior motive, as long as you're still doing something good for others. Well for one, giving a boost to your popularity does not deal much damage to other people, does it? On the other hand, popularity turns out to be an effective stimulus for people to start doing something good.

My own realization
I believe this is the time where I stop rambling and start doing something good too.

My impossible dream

Watch out for the somehow-chubby guy with glasses and a-little-messed-up hair. And also look out for Uematsu Nobuo-san who will take over the conducting of the orchestra near the end of the performance. Really, I must say. That somehow-chubby guy with glasses and a-little-messed-up hair is living my dream -- playing the oboe under the baton of The Maestro.

I wonder if it could ever be more than a dream for me... But first of all, the oboe is still on my wishlist... after having paid for the car, and after having my own house... and my very own alienware... Okay, when I turn 50 years old, I will be able to buy my oboe. If I'm lucky, I'd still be alive and I still have the strong bones and enough energy to go to Japan and materialize the dream. But then again, how old will Uematsu-san be by that time? 77.

*dream poofs* Only time will tell. :)

Never thought I could hate a post this much

I like storms.. or heavy rains... especially when I'm at home doing nothing. I was enjoying it this morning to my heart's content. Just downloading some MP3s to burn so that we will have some new sounds to listen to in the car.

Mark and I were planning to watch Surrogates at SM Molino on 3PM. My mom was nagging me to not go because of the heavy rain. But I still did. Then it happened. We just arrived at the already full parking lot, and luckily there was one space free and we parked there. Wish it was just as simple as that... there was a round post at the right side and the car came too close to it until it scratches against the car door. It was okay at first, just some paint rubbed off onto the car. But the car wasn't positioned properly yet, so we still have to do some maneuvering to make it right. The parking space was very small and narrow, there was also a car behind us so we couldn't go backwards too much -- and that makes the parking so damn difficult. So we tried to position the car properly while the damn post was scratching away on the car door. Since both of us are very newbies at maneuvering in very narrow spaces, we couldn't get away from the post anymore. Luckily, there was a man and a woman who helped us and gave us very precise directions on how we can park properly. I thought we will never be able to get out of that... We said our thanks to the people who helped us then finally got out of the car. Looking at the right side of the car, there were a lot of white paint from the f*cking post. I HATE THAT POST (if it's not yet obvious). There was also a large dent on the car door, perfectly shaped like the post, it seems that the post was already too comfortable leaning on the car door for a while. You know like when your head is lying on a pillow for a while, and when you finally get up, you'll see that your head has already left a mark on the pillow. Yeah. Just like that.

It took us like 30 minutes to park, so we already missed the movie. We decided to go for the next schedule which is at 5PM. So we ran some errands first, bought a rubbing compound and went back to the car. Mark knew there was a reason why we bought a LOT of rags when we were stuck in traffic in Laguna. This is it. So we spent another 30 minutes removing the white paint on the car. And while I was doing that, the damn post was still annoying me... there's some water from the post pouring on me. It was also scratching against my hand. REALLY, I HATE THAT POST.

After a lot of hard work, the car looks okay now except for the large round-shaped dent - yeah, oh well. We went back inside the mall to buy some food, we were already hungry from all the parking stress. After eating, we are finally on our way to the cinemas. GREAT! We're watching a movie! I was about to buy the tickets, and Mark was buying popcorn... when the cinema attendant told me that the only available movie is "In My Life." Apparently, they are having some problems and I don't care what anymore.

I really hate that post. >_<;;

In response to Annie's thoughts on group names

Instead of posting a very long comment on Annie's page, I posted this instead. xD This is also to avoid rambling on Annie's blog... :)) Anyway here goes... :D

Actually Wonder Girls is a loooot better than Pussycat Dolls and Mocha Girls... See the comparison -- Pussycat Dolls are, in my opinion, very sexy to the point of slutty (sorry to their fans).. I mean, don't get me wrong, they DO have a lot of talent in singing and dancing.... But do they really have to wear too little clothing and indulge the horny guys out there so that they can be famous? I believe a lot of not-so-good-looking girls and guys have emerged without having to stoop so low like that, as long as they have a lot of talent to show right? Just look at Susan Boyle -- she's got millions of fans! And guess what? There's also a reality show called The Search for the Next Doll, and of course the contestants will have to be as equally slutty as they can be, and of course a lot of talent....

Anyway, during the peak of their career, the Filipinos suddenly thought, "Oh why don't we do our own version of that?!", "GREAT IDEA!"... And then they grouped five half-Filipino models, give them some little clothing as long as they can show a lot of skin like the Pussycat Dolls... Guess what their name is? KITTY GIRLS. Get it? Pussycat = Kitty...... Then there's Mocha Girls, and who knows what else... xD The sad part here is, according to Crystal, one of the girls (maybe the leader?) Mocha is very talented in singing... But yeah, maybe in this industry where there's a lot of competition, I guess you really have to literally give everything you can just to be famous.... Really sad.

And then, there's the Wonder Girls. They are not at all slutty, in my opinion. But please feel free to correct me if you find any not-so-good pics of them. xD I think their style is more like DreamGirls? Haven't watched the movie but their 70's costumes and hairstyles resemble somehow.. :) Looks a lot better and more artistic, right? ;) They can be cute and sexy without looking too slutty. And there's a lot of talent there too.

So anyway, yup there's my long response! :))) Really sorry, but slutty girl groups really piss me off sometimes... I mean, REALLY! A lot of people are trying to fight for women's rights, but here we are, selling ourselves, giving the desires of the rapists and molesters. For those of you who listen to the radio or watch the TV... tell me. How many commercials are there which uses the concept of women seducing men? Really now... what has happened to the world? And the really-pissing-me-off part here is the young people - kids and teens will be imitating that kind of stuff. God help us... :)))

Anyway, yeah enough of my rambling.

DISCLAIMER: Well, who am I to point fingers? I, myself, have a lot of flaws such as grammar and spelling, and a lot more with my attitude. Sorry, I'm just blowing off some steam. xD freedom of speech. :) Sorry if this has been offensive to anyone, just voicing out my thoughts.

For Annie :))

Loooooong vacation.

Okay so finally I get to rest for the whole week -- 10 days straight! Yay for me~!!! I believe this is my first time to take a vacation without any events or TO-DOs.. And so sorry it's been a long time since my last post.. I've been very laaaazy.. plus a lot of people are now using the PC here at home and I am too tired to turn on the laptop.... I've always been so sleepy at work and when I come home... I really need this vacation so much.. @___@

Anyway, so what can I say? Hmm.. ah- my brother got married to his almost 4-year girlfriend... They're happy so far, and we're also very happy that Kris is living here! :D but really, what is the deal with marriage? I don't know what to believe in, some things just scare me, but sometimes, I think it's really great to finally marry the one you truly love... not just the one who got you pregnant or, the one who you could just settle with because he has a stable job and lots of money. I don't know. Whatever. xD Only time will tell, I guess...

Then some deploys gone wrong but fortunately have been fixed or fixing in progress... Some Mark-breakdowns due to too much automation.. T___T poor guy.. what else? A few days that I totally do not know what to do during work... -- actually either that or I am just too lazy to find something to do.. There was one happy week for whole team because our boss went for a vacation.. ahhh.. bliss. xD That was one really happy week. Since previous months, he's been looking serious all the time, probably working on how to save our dying IT department... xD we're not looking very good in biz' point of view right now haha.. so yup, that makes everything stressful at work during these times. Not to mention that a lot of people are resigning, but they still chose to up their standards for accepting new employees. Hmm... anyway that's up to them.

Okay enough of work. xD Yesterday was Cris' daughter Trisha's 1st birthday~! Yay! We had so much fun.. First of all, we met with Pauline at Alabang then together we embarked on our journey to somewhere in Biñan. :)) We skipped our supposed SLEX exits so we had to go back and stuff... ask a lot of people for directions -- but nothing actually helped. xD Only one of them gave us the correct direction but it was contradicting the Google maps so.... finally we decided to call Arnel, who, by the way, left his house much later than we did but arrived at the venue much earlier than us. xD so he let me talk to Cris and he asked where we were, and gave us precise directions on how to go to the venue. Finally at 5 PM we arrived at the venue, and fortunately there are still a lot of food left. xD Arnel and Annie were already there~ been a long time since I last saw Annie and she was strikingly beautiful and glowing! :))) Hey Annie, long hair looks great on you! :D Then we had so much fun at the party, too many stories and gossiping which is BAD, BAD! Hahaha.. The best part was we have our own goodie bags and balloons!! We took a lot of pictures, mostly of Mark molesting the provocatively-shaped balloon. :)))) Haaayy.. I wish we could have more events like that where everyone will gather and we will just have fun like kids do. :)

So that was DAY 1 of my long vacation. Today is DAY 2, and I tried waking up early, hoping that my brother is still sleeping so I can use the PC to play The Sims 3. Unfortunately, yup he's already wide awake, clicking away through Mafia Wars and Farmville, and who knows what else he's doing... so I just lay on the sofa, tried to go back to sleep... but alas, I am already awake. So, went online on my laptop (that is to say, the laptop issued to me by the company xD), searched for sites where I can download Gensomaden Saiyuki. I even came across one that says "Gensou Maiden Saiyuki" -- okay that one sounds girly so it must be incorrect right? I couldn't find anything except for one which looks like French subbed to me, then I just realized that download sites do not label it as Gensomaden Saiyuki but only Saiyuki. RIGHT. xD So yep, now I'm on my 2nd download.. hoping that my brother will go out today so I can play The Sims 3 today nonstop. :))

Must have bored you to death by now with my nonsense stories (if you have read this to the end, then you probably have a lot of time on your hands).. So I think this is my cue to stop. Though I doubt if anyone will actually read this, haha... REALLY, I should remember to post every now and then so that I will stop posting ultra long entries.

OKAY, I really have to stop now. BYE-BEE~! (got this from Shinri-chan xD)
