君に届けThe Movie

I downloaded the movie from gg fansubs, they collaborated with Eclipse! It was a whopping 6.5 GB and I'm not sure how it turned out to be like that. I had to wait for a few nights before I finish downloading it via torrent, but it was somehow worth it!

This is my 2nd time watching a live action movie version of an anime. My 1st one was ラブコン (LoveCom) and I didn't like it that much. The actors and actresses were kind of awkward and it seems a bit like a school play more than a movie. It's still cute nonetheless. ^^

Kimi ni Todoke, on the other hand, featured a few good stars though. This is the first time I saw those people in a movie but I can tell that they really have the talent!

I think Tabe Mikako, who played Kuronuma Sawako, almost got it. Although her acting couldn't quite attain the level of the anime character, but I like the way she portrayed Sawako's glare and speechlessness in conversations. The only very wrong thing that I saw was her skirt was too high. The real Kuronuma Sawako would not wear her skirt that high!

Miura Haruma, who played Kazehaya Shota, is perfect for the role. His smile can actually compete with the character's, but sometimes I can't help but think that he was directly cut out of a Close-Up commercial when he flashes his white teeth like that. LOL

Renbutsu Misako, who played Yoshida Chizuru, is soooo cute and pretty! She was tomboyish enough to play Yoshida's part but I think she's too pretty for the role. For me, she is the best actress in the movie! She seems to have the most natural acting and I felt comfortable watching her. I just couldn't help but think that she's so pretty, pretty, pretty... hehe... Lucky Ryu!

Aoyama Haru, who played Sanada Ryu, did also quite a good job. He doesn't have too many lines but I liked that his hair resembled Ryu's hair in the anime. He was a bit weird though during the Ryu-Chizu moments, I couldn't get the romantic air between them. Or maybe I just thought that Renbutsu is too pretty for him, hehe.

Natsuna, who played Yano Ayane, is also pretty good. She gives me the feeling that she really is that kind of high school girl who worries about how she looks, if her make-up is alright, just typical Yano-chin. Her voice is almost like the anime's Yano-chin too.

Arata, who played Arai Pin, is also not quite the one I expected but I think he would do. In the anime, this is one of the hilarious characters and there was a time in the movie that Arata made me really laugh out loud.

The actor who played Jonouchi Soichi (I don't know his name) is also one of my favorites. His hair is also like the anime's Jo's. He played the character's stupidity and idiocy very well! I can really see Jo in him, just perfect!

I was a bit disappointed with Kiritani Mirei, the one who played Kurumizawa Ume. Her look was okay, the nice curls, her fake cuteness... but there's still a lot missing. Kurumi-chan in the anime was very misleading and you'd just think from the very start that she has a really cute personality. Kiritani however, just gave it away from the very start. It didn't help at all that the anime character was voiced by the Hirano Aya. Her voice was just so perfect for the role.

All in all, I like the movie even though it was different from the manga. Although I loved the anime more (Production I.G. did a really great job on this), it was still a good watch and I recommend it to all Kimi ni Todoke fans. ^^ Remember, just the fans! Don't watch it if you hate cheesy stories. This is just sooo cheesy.
